SnapInvites Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Valley Tech LLC ("Valley Tech," "we," "us," or "our") operates the SnapInvites website, web application, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you interact with the Services. It also describes your rights and choices.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Services.
Where SnapInvites Is Offered
We offer SnapInvites only in certain countries and do not target others. We may limit or block access from countries where it is not offered, and we do not send texts or WhatsApp messages to phone numbers from them. A host may still enter such a guest's details; we keep them only as part of the host's guest list.
If you access or use the Services from a country where they are not offered, you do so without authorization under our Terms. In such cases, we may deny access, suspend or terminate accounts, and delete associated data where permitted by applicable law.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account and profile details: name, email address, authentication tokens (e.g., magic links), and preferences you add to your account.
- Event and RSVP information: event titles, descriptions, dates/times, locations, custom questions, and settings you configure.
- Guest list information: guest names, email addresses, phone numbers, SMS and WhatsApp opt-in preferences, WhatsApp opt-out and delivery status (for example, that a number isn't on WhatsApp), plus-one counts, RSVP responses, custom question responses, and notes. Each guest also has a personal link code, and each event a short link code.
- RSVP marketing email preferences: whether a guest opted in to receive SnapInvites marketing emails (such as party ideas, offers, and product news) through RSVP forms.
- Event page content: the template and design you choose, custom text, and photos or other files you upload to your event page.
- Payment details: on the web, billing name, email, and limited payment method information submitted through our payment processor, which stores and processes full payment credentials. In our mobile apps, Apple or Google processes the payment; we receive a confirmation of the purchase (product, price, store, and a transaction identifier) through a service provider, not your payment card details.
- Event Pass records: for an event with an Event Pass, the purchase, the date the Pass was bought for and every later date change, and which guests have been invited under it (kept even if a guest is later removed), so we can apply the Pass's rules.
- Support and communications: information you provide when you contact support or submit feedback.
1.2 Information Hosts Give Us About Their Guests
When a host adds guests or a guest replies to an event page, the host decides whom to invite, what to ask, and what to send. We process that guest information on the host's behalf to run their event: to show the event page, collect replies, send the invitations and reminders the host asks for, and show the host who is coming. Hosts are responsible for having the right to give us their guests' details. Hosts see what their guests tell them, and use it under their own responsibility. A guest who wants their details changed or removed can ask the host or contact us.
1.3 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage and device data: log files, IP address, browser type, operating system, language, referring/exit pages, and timestamps.
- Mobile app and device identifiers: app instance identifiers, device type, mobile operating system version, push notification tokens, crash diagnostics, and other identifiers reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and measure the mobile app.
- Anonymous site statistics: which pages and features are used, the type of device (phone or computer), the country, and the referring website, collected without cookies or other identifiers stored on your device, and without your name, account, or guest details. Pages whose address contains an event's or guest's code are recorded without the code. Campaign codes in a link (such as
utm_source) are included only while ad measurement is allowed. See Section 5. - Ad measurement: where ad measurement is allowed (Section 5), advertising partners receive information about visits to our website and actions such as signing up or purchasing, through their pixels and cookies.
- Message delivery records: for each text, WhatsApp message, and email we send for an event: the event, the guest, the recipient's country, the provider's message identifier, whether it was delivered, and its cost. We also keep a list of phone numbers we have texted, with the date of the first text, so we know which texts need the full STOP and HELP notice.
- App performance data: diagnostic information about errors, latency, and queue performance captured for troubleshooting.
1.4 Information From Third Parties
- Payment processors and app stores: they share payment status, billing details, and transaction metadata so we can manage purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and customer support.
- Messaging providers: our messaging providers, including WhatsApp, report whether messages were delivered, and tell us when a number replies STOP, blocks us, or isn't on WhatsApp.
- Analytics and advertising partners: providers that help us understand website use and campaign performance, subject to applicable choices and controls.
1.5 Mobile App Permissions and Features
Depending on the device, platform, and features you choose to use, we may request access to:
- Photos, camera, and files: to let you upload event photos or profile images.
- Notifications: to send event reminders, RSVP updates, service alerts, and other push notifications you choose to receive.
You can decline or revoke these permissions in your device settings, but some features may not function properly without them.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide and improve the Services, including hosting event pages, collecting RSVPs, managing guest lists, and enhancing product features.
- Communicate with you and your guests, including sending invitations, confirmations, reminders, receipts, and service notices.
- Send emails about SnapInvites. If you are a host, we send you product and hosting emails by default: a welcome, tips for planning your first event, a reminder to finish and send an event, a suggestion for what to do after an event, a request for your feedback, and, if you have not used SnapInvites for a while, an invitation to come back. Some of these promote the Services. Each promotional email has an unsubscribe link, and once you unsubscribe we do not send you more of them. We send marketing emails to guests (party ideas, promotional offers, and SnapInvites news) only if they opt in, for example with the unticked checkbox on an RSVP form, and each one has an unsubscribe link.
- Process payments and manage subscriptions, refunds, and fraud prevention.
- Personalize experiences, including recommending templates and remembering preferences.
- Analyze usage and measure performance, including understanding feature adoption and, where ad measurement is allowed, measuring our advertising campaigns.
- Honor opt-outs, including remembering numbers that replied STOP or blocked us, so they keep working.
- Protect the Services, including detecting fraud, enforcing our Terms of Service, and securing accounts.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
Where the law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on:
- Contract: processing necessary to provide the Services.
- Legitimate interests: improving and securing the Services and preventing abuse.
- Consent / opt-out rights: honoring cookie choices, opt-out requests, and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals.
- Legal obligations: compliance with tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
4. How We Share Information
We share personal information with:
- Service providers: companies that support hosting, content delivery, email, payment processing, messaging, and site statistics. They process information on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing their service to us.
- WhatsApp: to deliver a WhatsApp message, we share the guest's phone number and the message content with our messaging provider and WhatsApp (Meta Platforms), which process them to deliver the message and report its delivery, under their own terms.
- Advertising partners: where ad measurement is allowed (Section 5), advertising partners receive information through their pixels on our website. They are not our service providers and use it under their own terms. Ad pixels never run on event pages, guests' personal links, or in our mobile apps, so guest information is never shared with them.
- Professional advisors: lawyers, accountants, auditors, or insurers when necessary.
- Authorities or parties in legal matters: if required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, provided the recipient agrees to honor this policy.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, advertising pixels on our website may involve "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as defined by California law. You can opt out of that sharing with Your Privacy Choices, with a Global Privacy Control signal, or by emailing us (Section 5).
We require service providers that receive personal information from us to protect that information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law, subject to the limits of our contractual and practical control over third-party systems.
5. Cookies and Your Privacy Choices
We use cookies and similar technologies for these purposes:
| What | Why | How long | Can you turn it off? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in and security cookies | Keep you signed in and protect your account | The session, or as long as you stay signed in | No: the Services need them |
A guest's reply cookie (rsvp_token_…) | Set when a guest opens their personal link, so their device stays signed in to their reply for that event until they choose "Not you?" | 30 days | No: replying needs it |
Your privacy choice (snapinvites-privacy) | Remembers what you chose in Your Privacy Choices | 180 days | No: it is how your choice is kept |
| Anonymous site statistics | Counts page views and clicks without knowing who you are. Nothing is stored on your device | See Section 6 | Yes, in Your Privacy Choices |
| Ad measurement (advertising partners' pixels and cookies) | Tells us which of our ads brought people to SnapInvites | Set by each partner | Yes: see below |
Your Privacy Choices. The Your Privacy Choices link in the footer of every page opens a panel with one switch for anonymous site statistics and one for ad measurement. Turning either off takes the same single step as turning it on, and closing the panel without saving changes nothing. Your choice is saved in this browser only; on another browser or device, or after clearing cookies, choose again.
Where you are changes the starting point:
- In the United States and most other countries, anonymous site statistics and ad measurement start on, without a banner, and you can turn either off at any time with Your Privacy Choices. We apply California's rules to every US visitor.
- In Canada, and where we can't tell your location, ad measurement stays off unless you choose Accept in the banner we show, or turn it on in Your Privacy Choices. Decline is as easy as Accept, closing or ignoring the banner is never treated as consent, and the site works the same either way. Anonymous site statistics start on, because they don't identify you or store anything on your device; you can turn them off in Your Privacy Choices.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information: ad measurement stays off in that browser, and Your Privacy Choices shows that your opt-out request was honored. GPC does not turn off anonymous site statistics, which are neither a sale nor sharing.
Other ways to opt out. You can also opt out of sale or sharing by emailing [email protected]. You don't need an account to opt out.
Pages without ad measurement. Ad pixels never run on event pages, guests' personal and short links, or in our mobile apps.
Our anonymous site statistics are configured not to collect form content or account, event, or guest identifiers. Completed purchases are counted the same anonymous way (plan, price, and country, with no identifiers), unless you have turned anonymous statistics off.
6. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes in this policy and as the law requires. In particular:
- Account data: for as long as your account exists.
- Event and RSVP data: for as long as the event exists, until you delete it or your account. You can archive an event with an Event Pass, but not delete it yourself, because its purchase records stay with it; after the Pass ends, its page stays available as a keepsake. An account deletion request (Section 8) covers these events too.
- Guest list data: retained with the associated event until deletion, subject to legal retention.
- Marketing contact and consent records: email address, opt-in status, consent timestamp, consent source/context, and related campaign metadata, for as long as needed to show consent and as the law requires. We also keep a record of each unsubscribe, so that we do not email that address again.
- Uploaded event photos and files: retained with the event until you delete them or the event, or request deletion, subject to legal retention.
- Event Pass records: kept with the event for as long as the event exists, so we can apply the Pass's rules. The payment itself is kept as a transaction record (below).
- Message delivery records: kept with the event and deleted when the event is deleted. If a guest is removed, the record stays with the event without the link to that guest.
- Opt-out and messaging lists: phone numbers that replied STOP to our texts, numbers that opted out of, blocked, or aren't on WhatsApp, and the numbers we have texted (with the date of the first text) are kept for as long as we send messages, even after the related guest, event, or account is deleted. We keep them so that an opt-out keeps working and the STOP and HELP notices are sent when required. They hold the phone number and the dates and reason, not the guest's name or event.
- Transaction records: as long as the law requires for accounting and tax purposes.
We delete or anonymize personal information when it is no longer needed, unless we are required to retain it by law.
7. Data Security
We employ technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and monitoring.
However, no system is completely secure. Please notify us immediately at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal information and receive a copy.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your personal information (subject to legal retention).
- Opt out of certain processing (including targeted advertising where applicable).
- Withdraw consent where we rely on consent.
- Data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Text and WhatsApp choices: Reply STOP to stop all texts from SnapInvites, for every event. Reply START to get them again. On WhatsApp, reply STOP or block our number to stop WhatsApp messages from SnapInvites. Sale or sharing: use Your Privacy Choices, a Global Privacy Control signal, or email us (Section 5). Email choices: If you receive product, hosting, or marketing emails from us, you can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in the message. We honor an unsubscribe request within the time the law requires. Unsubscribing does not stop messages that are part of the Services, such as receipts, security notices, and messages about your own events.
To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling requests. We respond within the time the law requires.
Data Deletion
You can delete your SnapInvites account and associated product data in either of the following ways:
- Sign in to SnapInvites, open Account, and select Delete account. When you confirm with a code we send to your account's email address, we delete your account, events, guest lists, and replies, and email you when it is done.
- If you cannot sign in or do not have the app, email [email protected] from the email address associated with your account and request account deletion, or follow the steps at
/profile/delete-account. We respond within the time the law requires.
This deletion request method is also intended to serve as the outside-the-app account deletion method for mobile-app users where required by Apple App Store or Google Play policies.
When we process a valid deletion request, we will delete or de-identify your account profile, events, guest lists, RSVP data, notes, custom question responses, and uploaded files associated with your account, subject to operational backup cycles and legal obligations.
After deletion we keep only what the law or security requires, such as transaction and tax records, the opt-out and unsubscribe lists in Section 6 (so that a STOP or an unsubscribe keeps working), and security logs, each only as long as Section 6 describes.
9. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States. We and our service providers may process and store personal information in the United States and other countries. When we transfer personal information internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards where required.
10. Children's Privacy
SnapInvites is designed for adults planning events and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it.
Hosts may include children’s names or photos on event pages or in RSVP questions. Hosts are responsible for obtaining any required parental/guardian consent before submitting children’s personal information to the Services.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We apply these opt-out choices to every visitor in the United States.
- Notice of right to opt out of sale or sharing: We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising pixels on our website may involve sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out with Your Privacy Choices in the footer of every page, with a Global Privacy Control signal (which we treat as a valid opt-out request), or by emailing [email protected]. We do not sell or share the personal information of guests, or of anyone we know to be under 16.
- Sensitive personal information: We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would give you the right to limit it.
- Non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
To exercise California rights, contact [email protected].
12. Canada Privacy Rights
If you are located in Canada, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable legal exceptions. You may also withdraw consent where we rely on consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
To make a privacy request or complaint, contact [email protected]. If we do not resolve your concern, you may have the right to contact the privacy regulator in your province or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as applicable.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and may notify you of material changes through the Services or by email.
